Surviving with God
(my personal story)
by Brenda
There were many broken bridges in my life.
These bridges where collapsed when it was too painful to look back.
Left behind on the other side of these bridges was a little piece of me.
Someone to tend the memories so when the day came I had the courage to
look back the truth wouldn’t be lost. Somehow inwardly I knew that the
truth couldn’t stay hidden forever and I would want to know my history.
Then came the business of mending those
bridges. Reconnecting the present with the past so that the attending
caretakers can reunite and add their piece to the puzzle, the task of
putting back together that which should have never been broken apart, my
very spirit.
God has put me here on earth with a will to
survive, and a need to keep going no matter how hard it gets. He
has given me many reasons to want to go on in this life. My family
(my husband and children) and my brothers and sisters in Christ among
them. He has also given me a hunger for the truth.
I know that with the truth freedom will come. (John 8:32)
Though life isn't always easy. The end
is already assured. I am more than a conqueror! (Romans 8:36-39)
God made many promises in His Word, the Bible. One of the
most important ones is that he will not give us more than we can handle.
(1 Corinthians 10:13) The other one that sticks out in my mind as I
write is that in which He promises that He will not leave us without the
comfort of his Spirit. (John 14:16) We have one thing, just one, which
He asks us to do and that, is to believe in Him! To believe that His
promises are true! He has promised so much and all He asks of us is to
have faith that His Word is true!
I hope in sharing with you my most private
and painful thoughts and experiences that there can be a new
understanding for survivors. I have run into all kinds of people.
Those with much sympathy and are willing to offer their support and
prayers, to those who rebuke me as the devil himself.
God never intended for His children to be
tortured and tormented. But there are those who in their own illness
and depravity, have literally shattered the spirits of God’s most
precious. I hope the new awareness that you find in what I share with
you, will bring you a heart of compassion for the innocent. I pray that
you protect those who are the most helpless of God’s creation, our
children.
If you find that you can relate to what I
have been through. I ask you to please contact me. I am in
no way an expert or a trained therapist. I’m a survivor just like
you may be or know. But I want you to know the truth about you and
your past or that the one you care about can be free. But most of all
the truth that God
Loves You! He wants to make us whole. He wants us to be free and
happy! He wants us to be the beautiful creation He intended us to be
when we where conceived!
