In my studies and research
on spiritual healing from trying to overcome many years of
abuse, I have found that there are energy fields that seem
to govern or guide our lives. You may wonder how do I know
this. My earliest thoughts on the subject come from personal
experience be it in spiritual manifestations or dreams. There
is something "out there" that is bigger than we are. I believe
it is God and His creation of not only this world but a non
visible spiritual world that is just as real as what we can
physically touch, hear and see on this earthy plane.
In reading several books on
the subject by several authors including Dr. Caroline Myss and
Sylvia Browne I got a glimpse into what these woman see as being
"psychic" or somehow clairvoyant. God gives us all gifts. I
believe that God has given us gifts that activate as the need
arises. I don't believe they are to be abused or as a way to
make a fortune but to be used to the Glory of God and are given
to us as a way to do just that.
In my case I was abused as
a child till I was a young adult. I was diagnosed with
Dissociative Identity Disorder when I was in my early 30s. At
first I didn't believe it and continued living unsure of myself
and thinking I was some sort of a freak. But after a while
I realized that this was not a curse, it was a gift given to me
as a tool for survival. Now that I have come a long way on the
road to healing I can see how and why God let me have this gift
and is now showing me how to understand it and how all people
have these same attributes in their lives but not to the extent
as a survivor of abuse has.
Let me give an overview of
what I have discovered. You have probably heard the term "inner
child" used by psychologists and therapists many times. I
believe there is more to this than just discovering what you had
or what you lacked as a child. It is that part of you that is
given to you by God either before or at birth. Each of us I
feel are given strengths, weaknesses and talents that we will
need to nurture and mature as we grow both spiritually and
physically. Some children seem to be born with an ability to
learn academics, some are born with a more developed common
sense innately knowing what is right and wrong. What ever the
attribute may be it is a gift from God to use to accomplish ,in
your life the things that God intended you too. How you use
them however is up to you. You can look at your ability to
memorize music as a talent to make yourself famous or make you
lots of money. Or you could look at it as a tool to glorify God
through music. And still you could look at it as worthless, or
use it to write and perform hurtful messages, it's up to you.
God gives you the gifts but you are given a free will to decide
how you will use them.
How are we to know how we
are to use our gifts? One way is studying the Bible. Here we
get a basic guide of the plan and gifts all people are given at
birth. For example God gave Moses the Ten Commandments, this is
how we are to behave. Jesus gave us the plan for salvation and
the golden rule. This is for all to be part of. I feel however
that God has also given each individual a life plan for what he
wants or intends for that persons life. With that we have
access to the physical and spiritual tools that God gave us to
help us full fill that plan.
Next question would
logically be "How do I know what my gifts are"? Other questions
you should ask yourself are: How has circumstance in my life
changed my life? What have I learned? How did I make it through something that was hard
for me? For example; A young boy is not good at math but
through perseverance and study he learns what he needs to know
to be adequate at it, maybe even quite good at it. What has he
learned from this? He has learned he can do things he thought
he couldn't, it raised his sense of self worth. His gift is
perseverance, he would not give up. How does this apply to us
spiritually? In my experience I felt guilt and fear relating to
my past, enough to devastate my life. I was afraid of about
everything including God. But one day in the oddest place and
at the most unusual time I heard a voice with in me say "It's ok
to grow up now and let it go." I felt empowered by that and the
feeling of guilt and the fear went away. Were did that voice
come from? I believe it was from the Holy Spirit or possibly a
messenger sent by God. Who ever the voice was it changed my
life for the better. My gift is that I can hear the spiritual,
I was given that gift because there was a need for me to feel
secure and safe. This is one example in my life, there are many
more some in the form of a voice, others in dreams and sometimes
actually seeing a spiritual being (angels).
I believe I had this gift
when I was born because God's plan for me included learning to
trust in spite of being abused. How can this glorify God? I
can tell other's who have been through the same things I have
that there is hope and I can use my gift to help others discover
theirs. Learning to understand God's gift of DID has also
given me the ability to look at situations from different angles
I can see through several pairs of eyes so to speak. This has
given me an objectivity that those who are not DID don't have.
I believe others can have this ability and other's who are DID
are more
pronounced.
Look at your own life.
What gifts have you been given? Some examples could be,
healing, a connection to the spiritual realm, prophecy and many
others. What challenges do you have in your life? How can the
gifts you have help you grow spiritually and what can your
challenges teach you. They are not going to go away, let God
teach you to make them a positive force in your life.
In the
near future I would like to add some biblical references and
hopefully accounts from other's with personal experiences to
share. So please check back. I believe we have just
begun to scratch the surface of the subject of Spiritual Energy.
